What to pack for a Summer Holiday!

What to pack for a Summer Holiday!

Whether you're hoping to get away for a family holiday, a trip with friends or a romantic break with your other half, we've done the hard part for you by compiling your need-to-know packing guide - so now there's just the small matter of how to fit it all into your suitcase!

HOLIDAY #1: Road-tripping

The wide roads await but what to pack? Of course, it's destination dependent but for those long hours on the road be sure to wear clothes you’d happily sit in for hours at a time. Wearing clothes that are super comfortable is key. Think elasticated pants, leggings and relaxed dresses. We love these Acrobat Cora Rolled Shorts, super versatile and comfortable to the max.

Prioritize clothes that don’t crush. This is a good motto for your whole wardrobe but even more so when on the road and living out of a suitcase. The Verge Acrobat Collection is our top pick for this. Wear flat, comfortable shoes. Sneakers are brilliant of course but you could also opt for slides or your trusted thongs. Note to self, however, if you're driving then be sure to reach for those closed in shoes... safety first!

Lastly, be prepared with garments you can layer. The temperature ranges you can experience can vary dramatically, depending on your destination. We're reaching for Verge's Resound Sweatshirt, for that touch of warmth when needed.

HOLIDAY #2: Island hopping

The key to packing for a tropical destination is going minimal. You'll be either lounging by the pool or out about and explore what the island has to offer. Choose lightweight garments made of linens, cotton and silks that are easy to re-wear and try not to overpack.

Opting for dresses means that you can ditch the stress of styling an outfit in the mornings when you wake up in holiday mode. This Verge Acrobat Blink Eco dress is the perfect dress, cool and relaxed for the day and can be dressed up for a lovely poolside dinner. Go for a staple linen button up or a classic denim jacket. The key is picking pieces that will match with more than one other item.

Footwear, keep it to a minimum as you'll be barefoot and carefree the majority of the time so opt for a pair of versatile sneakers, strappy sandals and your trusty thongs. Plus a good read is essential for pool hangouts, sipping on cocktails.

HOLIDAY #3: Wine country

A wine trip is an ultimate escape for anyone passionate about what goes in their glass. If you're planning a trip this Spring/Summer it can be tricky picking the right items in your luggage. What should you pack for dusty vineyard visits, chilly cellar doors, and four-star restaurants, while leaving room to bring back your favourite bottles?

A good start is to focus on layers. This will get you from warm days and cool nights. Think classic tees with Capri style pants and a cardigan or your favourite pair of denim jeans and a lightweight jacket. Be sure to check out the Acrobat collection by Verge, they have a style and colourway to suit everyone!

Lastly, dark colours are also a great idea to avoid any mishaps when enjoying the numerous wine tastings. Rely on dark colours which still look good after several visits to the vineyard. Cheers!

HOLIDAY #4: Camping...more like Glamping!

So camping isn't quite for you but you're tempted by this notion of "Glamping? With all the key amenities how could you go wrong? So when it comes to packing for your adventure holiday, what should fill your limited space with?

Be sure to look at where you're headed, what's the weather going to look like, and what activities are you likely to take part in while you’re there. With that in mind, you’ll want to bring clothes that can be worn multiple times as there’s probably not going to be a washing machine or dryer.

Opt for casual clothing, lightweight that is easy-wearing. Possibly consider some activewear and something warm for those chilly nights. These Acrobat Utility shorts by Verge are the perfect example of easy-wearing, easy-care, and lightweight not to mention the handy patch pockets.

Be sure to check what amenities you'll have access to as you may want to bring a few missing items just in case...point in case, a thermal Wine flask, and tumblers for those adventure picnics.

HOLIDAY #5: Staycation

While we may not be going to our dream location (aka Europe) any time soon, we often overlook that what we have in our own backyards are some of the most popular and spectacular tourist destinations worldwide. So let's make the most of what we have, and celebrate with family and friends this summer. Not to mention you can support local businesses and take some much-needed time out.

When it comes to packing, we say go with what will make you feel fabulous. Something that will take you from brunch to a gallery or museum, to a wine bar for Aperitivo (as if we were in Milano) to a delicious dinner at that place you've been meaning to try for some time now. You can be the creator this is a local adventure. Our favourite piece that comes to mind for a staycation is the romantic Artful Skirt by Verge which is a new addition to their Acrobat collection.

A staycation allows us to take a well-deserved break, enabling us to recharge and revitalize, and what better place to do it in style.
