At O’Brien’s Clothing Co, we understand that sometimes things don’t fit as expected. Our returns process is designed to be simple and hassle-free. Please review the following policy to ensure your return or exchange meets the conditions.
What Can Be Returned
- Full-Priced Items: Eligible for a refund, exchange, or store credit.
- Sale Items (Permanently Marked Down): Eligible for exchange or store credit only (no refunds).

Promo Sale Items (Flash Sales, Short-Term Discounts): Final sale, no returns, no exchanges, no store credit.

RETURN CONDITIONS
Items must be:
- Unused, unworn and unwashed, in original packaging, with original hang tag, price tag and garment labels attached.
- Accompanied by the original sales receipt.
- The items must be free of any perfume or odour.
- If the returned item/s do not meet these conditions, it may be returned to you at an additional charge.
- Change of mind return: items can be returned if you have changed your mind about the purchase, for a refund or store credit, but they must comply with our policies above, this is inline with ACCC policy.
ORDERS PLACED ONLINE:
Australian Returns
For Australian orders, customers have a 14-day window (Australian orders) from the day they receive their parcel to decide on a return and post it back to us. The item must be lodged with Australia Post within these 14 days.
Pre-paid Return Postage Labels (Australian Orders) - Make returns easy with our $10 prepaid return label—convenient and hassle-free!
Pre-paid return labels are available for purchase through our returns portal for $10 and are created with AusPost. After lodging your return, select the prepaid label option to receive it by email.
- If you are returning your item for a refund or store credit, the $10 for the pre-paid return postage label will be deducted later from the refund or store credit amount, once we have received your item back in our office and processed your return.
- If you are returning your item for an exchange, you will be emailed an invoice for the $10 payment for the pre-paid return postage label. Just click through the invoice to complete the payment, and the pre-paid label will be emailed to you.
Simply print, affix it to your parcel (reusing the original packaging), and drop it in an AusPost mailbox. It’s an easy, time-saving way to return your item!
International Returns
For international orders, customers have a 30-day window (international orders) from the day they receive their parcel to decide on a return and post it back to us. The item must be lodged with your postal service within these 30 days.
For international returns, the same conditions apply as above. Please return your item in the same way as Australian orders by lodging your return in our Returns Portal. We do not offer pre-paid return labels for international returns, please post your item back to us via your preferred method at your cost. Non-returnable items:
- Gift cards
- Earrings (for hygiene reasons)
Partial or Non-refundable Returns:
- Items not in their original condition, damaged, or missing parts.
- Items returned after the 14-day (Australian orders) or 30 days (International orders) period.

Pack & Ship
Use a postal pack or your original parcel, adding the prepaid label if applicable, and send via Australia Post (Aust orders) or your choice of courier (international orders).

Confirmation
Once we receive your return, we will send you an email confirmation. If you requested a refund, it will be processed using your original payment method.
In-Store Returns
You can also return your online purchase at our store in Perth, WA, with the original receipt. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method, excluding shipping costs. Alternatively, you can receive store credit for future purchases.
Exchanges
To exchange an item:
- Follow the same steps outlined in the return process.
- Select “Exchange” in the Returns Portal and specify the item you want.
- If your first choice is unavailable, you can provide an alternative item.
- Shipping costs for exchanges apply unless the item is faulty or incorrect.
Refunds and Store Credits
Once your return is received and inspected, you will receive an email notification about the status of your refund/store credit. Approved refunds/store credits will be processed by the next working day.
Late or Missing Refunds:
If you haven’t received your refund, please first check your bank account, contact your credit card company, and allow some processing time, it can take around 5 business days for the refund amount to be shown in your bank account. If you still haven’t received it, email us at info@obriensclothingco.com.au.
Sale & Flash Sale Items
- Sale Items: Refunds are not available. You can exchange for another size or receive store credit.
- Flash Sale Items: These are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.
Damaged or Faulty Items
If you receive an item that is damaged or defective, we will replace it or offer a full refund, including shipping costs. Please lodge a return via our Returns Portal and indicate whether you’d like a replacement or refund. We can provide a prepaid shipping label for the return.
Shipping Costs for Returns
Shipping costs are non-refundable. The customer is responsible for the shipping cost of the original order and the shipping cost of returning the order to us. We recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance.
ORDERS PLACED OVER THE PHONE OR BOUGHT IN-STORE:
If you placed your order over the phone, or bought it in-store, you can return your item by posting it back to us at our address above, or by bringing it back to our store.
- Items bought in-store in person must be returned within 7 days of purchase.
- Items bought over the phone and posted to you must be posted back to us within 14 days (Australian orders) or 30 days (international orders) of you receiving the order.
The same return policy applies for all orders as above as for online orders. All hang tags, price tags and garment labels must be still attached. The items must be unused, unwashed and free of any odour. If you are posting your item back to us, then please include the cash register receipt that was included in your parcel, or if you can't find this, then please write a note including your name, phone number and whether you would like a refund, exchange or store credit.
Frequent Returns Policy
Customers who return 10 or more items within a year may be contacted by our customer support team to offer personalized shopping advice. Our goal is to assist with sizing, style, and product recommendations to improve your shopping experience.
